senior alerts

Besides the capacity of streaming live feed of your home, Alfred keeps you updated on what is going on in your home with motion sensor and instant alerts. If you see an intruder, you can scare him away by speaking through the walkie talkie and immediately notify the local authorities. The videos are kept safe in the free cloud storage, and they can be saved or downloaded as evidence to help identify the suspect. Alfred is an essential component of any home improvement project if you are interested in building a smart home or experimenting with voice assistants such as Google Assistant. Consider the following scenario: when holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Black Friday approach, the number of parcels everyone receives increases. Unfortunately, so do the parcel theft cases.

One thing I really like about Amcrest is that they do not try to lock down their products and trap you in their ecosystem. Since the NVR supports the ONVIF standard, you can add any 3rd party camera from manufacturers like Hikvision, Dahua, Sony, Vivotek, and even Foscam Amcrest’s nemesis whom they had a falling out with and the reason for the Amcrest brand being created. The camera included in this kit appears to be the IP2M 842EB model, which can also be purchased separately. These are 1080p 2MP IP cameras that ca do night vision and have a very good IP67 weather rating. They are also ONVIF compliant so can be used with ONVIF compliant NVRs or a DIY NAS NVR system if you have one. Using the Amcrest smartphone app, you can login to the NVR at any time to see a live feed of all the cameras as well as recordings. See the full datasheet of this NVR hereopens in new tab. Smoke Detector

For example, you will probably need a portable security system. A portable system is one that is wireless and usually a DIY installation. This will keep you from having to drill holes in your landlord’s walls, which could cost you in repair damages when you move out. Additionally, you will only need indoor cameras versus outdoor and doorbell cameras in most cases. You might also consider window and door sensors, environmental sensors for smoke and water intrusion, a control panel with a panic button and two way talk feature, and any home automation equipment you choose. If you travel often, your needs will focus more on being able to remotely access, monitor, and control your home security and home automation features. For example, if you travel, you might need to remotely unlock your doors for family or guests, turn your lights on and off to make it look like you’re home, turn your thermostat up if an extended freeze is expected, high quality security cameras and doorbell cameras to monitor your home and property while you’re not there. You will also want all the basic security equipment as well, such as a control panel, window and door sensors, motion detectors, environmental protection sensors to protect your home from intruders or potential disasters such as a fire or pipe break, etc. If you are a senior, there are some extra security and home automation features you might consider in addition to the basics. For example, if you have mobility issues, you will probably want as many home automation features as you can get your hands on. These will allow you to remotely access, monitor, and control your entire home security system and much of your home’s equipment such as door locks, window blinds, small appliances, thermostat, garage door, and more.
