Fly Fishing Irigoyen - Tierra del Fuego - Sea Trouts
Far End Rivers Lodge is located in Tierra del Fuego Island, the southernmost province of Argentina. The fishing is done 100% wading, using ARGO 6x6 ATV to move to the pools and between them. Around 25 miles of private water access. - SPECIES: Sea-run brown trout, brown trout, rainbow and Robalo (Sea Bass) at the sea and mouth of the Irigoyen River. - SEASON: Starts mid December, finishes the 3rd week of April.
Fly fishing Spots in Rio Pico:
Confluence area: this is an ideal place for the ones who love fly fishing. Here, there are three rivers which flow together: Pampa , Pico and Nilson, which give our lodge its name. This distant area, 17 kilometers away, can be reached following an alternative path which results to be totally unspoiled by men and which is close to the borderline with Chile. Attractive species of Brown, Rainbow, and Eastern Brook trout are found here. Las Pampas River: This river is at 4 kilometers from the lodge and has 3 kilometers of private coast. Rainbow, Brown and King Salmon trout are caught here. You can fish with nymphs and dry flies.
Corcovado River (the mouth): This river is at 48 kilometers away from the lodge .You can fish wading the river. You will find Rainbow, Eastern Brook trout and the best trout of the Patagonia whose record weight has been between 7 and 10 kilograms and which are caught at the beginning and at the end of the fishing season . Nymphs and Streamers are used.
Vinter Lake: This lake is at 38 kilometers away from the lodge. It comes from the glaciers and it has one of the biggest surfaces in the Patagonia .It is shared with Chile and you can fish species like Rainbow and Eastern Brook trout which may weight from 7 to 10 kilograms.
Engaño Lake: This lake is at 43 kilometers distance from the Lodge and not many people visit it. You will find species of Eastern Brook trout
Lake 5: This lake is at 8 kilometers distance from the Lodge and it comes from the glaciers .You can fish there on board or with floats There are Brown trout which weight from 3 to 5 kilograms.
Lake 4: This lake with cold and transparent water is at 2 kilometers away from the Lodge and comes from the glaciers. You can get excellent species of Brown and Rainbow trout which weight from about 4 to 6 kilograms.
Lake 3, 2 and 1: They are at 46 kilometers distance from the Lodge and you can fish on board or with floats .You will find species of rainbow and brown trout of big size and you can fish with Streamers and some dry flies.
Los Niños Lake: This lake is at 33 kilometers distance from the Lodge. You can fish wading the river or with floats. There are Eastern Brook trout and you can fish with streamers and dry flies.
Nilson River: It is at 12 kilometers distance from the lodge .You can fish wading the river .You will find Rainbow, Brown And King Salmon trout .You can fish with nymphs and dry flies.
Pico River: This river is at 10 kilometers away from the lodge .You can fish wading the river from the mouth of lake 1 as far as the frontier with Chile. You will find Rainbow, Brown and King Salmon trout.
