Gears
• Trekking or similar shoes.
• Light trainers to cross rivers or while resting at the shelter.
• Comfortable clothes for walking. We suggest a light color, long sleeve shirt.
• Small backpack for trekking and a bag or backpack for the rest of the items transported by the carriers.
• Fleece or similar shirt.
• Light rain/windbreaker.
• Hat and sun glasses.
• Wool hat and gloves.
• Sunscreen and lip screen.
• Insect repellent.
• Personal hygiene items.
• Towel. Moist towelettes.
• Don't forget your camera and your medicine, if you take any.
Climate
It is usually cool in Buenos Aires from March to November (15°C Average). It also may be a little bit cold during July and August (winter). The climate can be a little bit dry, but ocean storms bring humidity to the countryside.
In the Northwest, near the province of Salta, temperature is about 18°C average from March to November with max. 25 to 28°C. It is colder by night as well as in the higher
mountains (3000 to 4000 meters). During this period, the region
is generally dry.

Currency
The local currency is the peso. One euro is about 4 pesos
and one Usd is about 3 pesos. It is not necessary to travel
with a lot of cash (pesos or dollars). Visa, MasterCard or American
express are accepted everywhere.
Customs
To enter the country, only a passport is needed.
Health
Nothing is compulsory concerning vaccination. Being vaccinate
against Hepatitis B is recommended. And an important point:
do not drink water of the tap.
Food
Argentina is well known for its wines, produced mainly in the province of Mendoza, near The Andes, and… the beef! Ask for a "bife de chorizo" or "lomo"! In Patagonia, try the lamb barbecue, a trout from the lakes and a Pacific salmon.
If you are vegetarian, don't worry, Argentina is a great fruit and vegetable producer, you will find variety and quality at very low prices.
