2 days, 2 nights
Welcome at Comodoro Airport.
Transfer to Pto. Deseado. During the first 80 km the road skirts the coast of San Jorge Gulf. Bays, gulfs and cliffs form the shore leading into Caleta Olivia, Santa Cruz Province. Later on, driving through the steppe we reach Pto. Deseado, a fishing port in a deep estuary first explored by Magellan in 1520 and then by Cavendish in 1586. In the afternoon, from on board a Zodiac boat (semi rigid), we will observe different points of "Ría del Deseado". This area is a wildlife Reservation where seals and dolphins come close to the coast, as well as seabirds like Imperial Cormorants, Magellan Oystercatchers, the rare Gray Cormorant and Magellan Penguins. Lodge at Los Acantilados Hotel. Dinner. Distance traveled: 270 km. (paved road)

Puerto Deseado - Los Antiguos - Estancia Telken
We travel westards across Patagonia, from the Atlantic Ocean to The Andes. Lunch at an authentic Patagonian bar/restaurant ,“El Pluma”, located near the great valley of Río Deseado. In the afternoon we visit Lake Buenos Aires and the cherry town of Los Antiguos. Then we take the mythical Route 40, the longest of the country (4600 Km). After passing Perito Moreno town, we arrive to Estancia Telken, located at the base of Meseta Buenos Aires. Lodge and dinner at the Estancia. Telken is an old Patagonian Estancia (1915) dedicated to sheep and horse breeding. It is a sheltered cozy place lined by trees. Its owners, Petty and Coco Nauta, will give us a very warm welcome. Distance traveled: 600 Km (paved road)

Estancia Telken - Cueva de las Manos - Parc National Perito Moreno

The adventure starts driving South along Route 40. First, we visit the Cuevas de las Manos. From the ranger's house there is a narrow path alongside the river that leads to the different shelters and caves... We drive towards the Perito Moreno National Park, one of the farthest places of Route 40 and less visited areas.
The Park protects the Patagonian fauna and flora as well as a chain of lakes and rivers. The amount of guanacos (lama guanicoe) in the Park is remarkable. Lodge and dinner at Estancia La Oriental (2 nights). Home-made  meals are shared with the owners and other guests.

Perito Moreno National Park - Estancia El Condor - Lago San Martín
2 Night Estancia EL Condor.
Transfer to Estancia El Condor. The journey crosses the Patagonian vastness, interrupted only by the lonely Lago Cardiel. The big sky and the infinitive horizon can stimulate the appreciation of the area. Lunch at Estancia La Siberia. On the road there are great opportunities to observe diverse land mammals like Guanacos, hares, red and gray foxes, armadillos and skunks. Birds of prey like falcons or eagles. Estancia El Condor stands on the imposing Andes Range, on the shores of the turquoise waters of Lake San Martin.  Distance: 440 km (390 gravel road, 50 paved road)
Second Day: At the Estancia there are several opportunities, it is possible to take walks through woods of local species (Nothofagus subantartica), go horseback riding or Trekking to great natural viewpoints of San Martin Lake, the Peninsula Avellaneda and the ranch headquarters. Box lunch.  Lodge and dinner at Estancia El Condor. Distance: 30 Km. (gravel road)

Estancia El Condor - Glacier Perito Moreno - Calafate
Drive to Calafate, on the coast of Lago Argentino. From the road we observe the great Viedma Lake and its Glacier. In the afternoon, visit to the famous Perito Moreno Glacier, a gorgeous river of ice, 3 Km. wide and 50 m high. Because it is the only glacier in the world which is permanently advancing, it was declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Some people consider it to be the eight wonder of the world. The sunset is the highlight of this day. Transfer to Calafate airport and end of services.
